DESCRIPTION: WW - Lord Elgin, manual wind, 33mm x 35mm to lug tips, 17mm lug width, original 14K yellow gold snap back case with engraved presentation on rear to Cecil Taylor by Parnelli Jones upon breaking the 150.370MPH qualifying record for the Indianapolis 500, black leather strap, original silvered dial with raised gold minute chapter, 23J cal 750, s#T875632, triple signed. Gross weight of assembled 14K gold watch without strap 14.4 dwt (24.4 g). Cecil Taylor had a long career mostly with A.J. Foyt racing but was a member of Parnelli Jones' pit crew through the 1960s; truly a fantastic piece of Indianapolis 500 history and racing history in general. From the Estate of Cecil Taylor.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide to steelwork; nearly flawless dial with very light surface spotting; excellent gold hands; unpolished case shows very little wear, light dings on the backs of the lugs; crown shows little wear; good plastic crystal.
